Pantai Bagan Lalang

Bagan Lalang? A place ah? Where is that? Beach la! In Selangor?

I know of Port Dickson but that's in Negri Sembilan. In Selangor - beach?  Yes Morib. Then another name? - Gold Coast that is in Australia?. We got Gold Coast here too ah?

Those are the words running wild in my mind when we started off our drive to the coast. In no time after driving for some time in a very uninhabited part of Selangor we saw the road signs at last. We are really there!

We were at the beach in Bagan Lalang and giving the children a chance to accumulate their memories on this place as well. We of course, did check up at  the Awani Resort,  stopping at the compound only.

Then I had a look around the place - Bagan Lalang. Having done some home work on the internet net for clues of the exciting things that we could have done in Bagan Lalang. Final results, apart from the wide nice beach and the should be tolerable seafood that would be available at night I don't detect anything else. Meaning - there is nothing in this area to amuse myself or to play with.

For those having the place in mind, be mentally prepared before your book your stay in this vicinity. This is definitely a beautiful place to eat and sleep, real R&R destination with no crowd, no traffic and no distractions. Perhaps the one and only past time in the evening. Check out the fishermen catch for the day. Not the sort of place that you could look forward to while away your time with activities ? You do it your own way. I would advice you to do some deep thinking and find yourself before deciding on using this place..

Believe me in this overcrowded world and seemingly lost society, we need to pull our handbrake, think and take our bearing from time to time That deserted ambience and serenity - is what we all really need

Part 1- Way to Pantai Bagan Lalang

#1  Heading north along Coastal Highway 5

Lots of alien signage! Places we never heard of.

#2.  Then came a tricky junction

Why? To continue the journey along the coast to go north, we need to make a sharp right angle turn! The road ahead goes to the beach

$3.  Nearer to junction

Not so bad! False alarm. the way forward was so obvious as the two lane highway with double lines was very clear that we need to make a turn and not going straight into the single lane country road/ But the signboard in the picture above was not well made. Bagan Lalang - follow the right turn! Which is misleading. Country road B119 is right ahead

Part 2 - The Beach

#4.  We were on the beach!

A watch tower! Not for coast guards nor life Guard????

#5.  Large stretch of beach and very long coast line

Facilities were there - the Rest shesd, well marked car parking areas.

#6.  Complete Serenity

Strong breeze, very deserted place - lots and lots of empty space. On land or on the sea bed

#7. The centre point - Official signage

Gigantic Bagan Lalang @ Sepang - the sign says

#8.  Yet another one

This one smaller dimension- more manageable for picture taking and less intimitating.

#9. More picture please

Yes unfortunately the pale tone chosen for the words "Bagan Lalang" would not come out well against the bright background of the open seas.

10.  Sorry looks nice in real time only

In the picture, the scene did not turn out as dramatic. The pale colour of the lettering BAGAN LALANG

#11. Trainee travelers

Trying out their photo taking skills

12.  The Awani Gold Coast Resort as background

The Resort itself . Another big big place! In the distance background

#13. Strong perpetual sea breeze

The show the effects of the breeze. Using the fallin sand that's being blown off track - playing rather!

#9

#14. We found a new plaything - Making Jumping shots

Mummy! Away from the other two younger guys

# 15.  Solo shot

For some one who do not like taking pictures

#16.  More

He did not know

18. See! He was mesmerized by the sands

The children more interested in playing with the sands and running around

19.  "Mudflats" as we termed it

Nice beach, sandy base with very shallow water - water line recede easily exposing the seabed

#17

20.  The Long Beach

Last frame on the group playing in the sand

Part 3 - Medan Ikan Bakar

21. Bagan Lalang Medan Selera - Sendandung Malam Seafood

This is a popular stall but as the name implies, only open at night

22. Extreme end of Beach - HM Sri Bagan Sepang

Right at the estuary - good view of the river mouth, Mangrove as well as the open sea of the Malacca Straits

23. The Sepoi Sepoi Cafe

Rather high end by furnishing. Just by the coast and having a good view of the Awani Resort as well

Though not namt shops but they were all well set up and maintained. Meaning good patronage

Part 4 - Awani Sepang Gold Coast  Resort

#24.  The Entrance

Right by the sea among the beach area. Left and right side the continuation of beaches

#25  One Souvenir shot

Good one for remembrance

#26.  Staff's motor bikes

Could count those reporting in for work daily

27.  Round about before the driveway

29  Drive way into the Foyer

Some distance too

#33. Chalets

Taken at sea

#34.  Chalets

From Far

#35.  Chalets

View from the north

With that last parting shot we had covered 2 places from the far way corner of the Selangor State

The usual question of sentiments! Would I be coming back or bringing friends over here again? The place is nice, the scene is beautiful. For a person who do not mind going for long drive, I would hesitate answering. The melancholy scene of belukar and open grassland along the way - it is a long lonely drive. I must say
