Wind Valley Camping site Ampang Pecah Now that I have done one page in "Glamping", my interest on the topic is still warm. One day when I was on my regular visit to the temple I was surprised to learn about a rather well known camping site in a valley just among the halls just behind the temple So I got myself into the compound. So nice to meet up with the owner and manager who allowed us to roam around plus sharing with us some pointers. Though We are familiar with outing and also having seen people going for weekends escapade, the operating of such an outfit do bring in different set of new problems. The amenities and the contingencies the operator have to attend to. 1. Ampang Pecah The old and original site for Kuala Kubu. This is the new name - no more Kuala Kubu
2. Road to Bukit Bujang The broad junction for making the turn in
3. Signage - Bukit Bujang Very clear signage on the granite block
4. Signage - Bukit Bujang -close up Poor choice of colours difficult to see from far
5. Signage - Wind Valley Once away from the public site and into the dedicated road going to the temple, the first signage appear. So follow the temple sign
6. An Ancient Temple found in 1903 This is a tourist destination. One of the remnants of the Great Flood. Co-founded and still adminstered by the Kek Loke Si Temple in Penang
7. Signage - The Barricade That's is the entrance to camp site. Dedicated to their compound and valley.
8. Assortment of camps Exhibition tent outside compound at the entrance
9. Entering the compound We were walking in from the detached car park outside the camps site
10. Car Park & Signage Lots of Hand written signage
11. Advertisement Here were more #9 12. Look-Out Platform A specially erected platform over looking the whole valley
13. Beautifully painted View of the whole platform
14. Campers in the valey Personal car allowed into campsite
15. More -edge of slopes They are all marked spot for ease of reservations
16. Walking back to office Whole place very compact but painted in striking clours
17. Make shift - reception area One for the album
18. Pink Lady plants Our favorite plant #17 19. Mr Tan - proud owner His -obviously better looking than mine
20. Close up of bush Yes! a big big cluster
21. Family having picnic Right side while going out
22. One for the album Very friendly owner and manager - Mr Tan
This place looks more organized and relaxing Compared with what we saw, the scene in Janda Baik is reminiscence of a refugee camps. Here I could feel the ambience of the outdoor living. The crowd better dispersed. Yes! That's it! I was asking myself that questions as to why the glamping site left such bad taste. First of all, it is very open and flat area. Cars and camps all in one place. People seen running around for their routines and last of all. Gathering in groups in close proximity. Here many scenes were camouflaged the presence of many trees. Campers gather around their own dedicated trees. The compound is in the shape of a valley with good dispersion. I would say easily 5 acres in size as compared to the half acre for the glamping sites.
