Heritage Sites in Georgetown, Penang

1. Moh Teng Pheow Nyonya Kueh

Actually it is a very memorable trip down memory lane for us in Penang Thought of all the old original taste, so much information available on the Google and flowing tips from contact. It would be a good and meaningful tour. So we noted the places and eateries for all the special availabilities To plot our schedule and maximized on coverage. and we were so thrilled that it when according to planning Not until we met the Apam seller in Pulau Tikus. The conversation with him made us realized that we are that special breed. Those few remnants of an old breed Really the last of the Mohicans.

There after we behaved like Mat Sallehs seeing these features in Penang for the first time. The visit to Moh Teng Pheow nyonya Kueh confirms everything. It was no good the offering overpriced. Too touristy and bear only a trace of the old days, when the set up is suppose to reinforced what we are now slowly loosing. Well, I confirm that conviction when later in our  trip, the next destination in Taiping - we got more superior tasting Kueh as a fraction of the price.

The pictures on "Campbell Street" are duplicate extracted from an another posting that I made exclusively on Campbell street.. I thought the added pictures as fillers would make this page on heritage more meaningful

Having prepared and competed this page. I still ponders over the efforts given to salvage the fast disappearing Campbell Street and remaking it as Chinatown in Georgetown. Short of any better idea on my own, I would say "good try"

"China Town?" I think our situation and status of chinese heritage on this island is so different from those in LA or Petaling street in KL.

Well good attempt to instll a Chinatown but the results? making me feel more sad
