Ibis

Hadada Ibis

The Hadada Ibis is most commonly seen in *sub-Saharan Africa*, particularly in the following countries where they are abundant and widespread:

This Ibis thrives in both natural and human-altered landscapes, often foraging in lawns and roosting in trees in suburban areas. Its loud, distinctive "haa-haa-haa" call makes it easily recognizable.

This is not a migratory bird in our region but somehow I think that our Bird Park took a fancy on them. For what ever reasons there were, the next thing we saw some 20 over years ago was that there were 3 birds foraging in the ground of our Lake Garden. Relatively tame with no signs of showing fear of human presence. By now we could a flock of them with varying numbers from time time. Just two years back I have them spotted in the PJ area. Their showing were not consistent and it was difficult to tell when would they be making their show here again  Anyway, their showing would be preempt by their very loud and distinctive call

Glossy Ibis

The  Glossy Ibis is a highly migratory bird with a wide distribution across the world. Its migration patterns vary depending on the population. Around the globe there would be at 4 major sphere  that would be wabdering. In Mayasia we would fall into the group of Australasian Populations*
Here the ambit of their breeding range: would be from the* Australia (Murray-Darling Basin, coastal wetlands).
 - *Winter Dispersal:* Some move to *New Guinea, Indonesia, and New Zealand* in non-breeding seasons.
Then in this period we get the strays that had veered a little north. They are fairly frequent visitirs but to us there would be some likely spots that they were spotted in previous years  Experts believed that some of the key factors influencing their decision would be:-
 - *Water Levels:* They follow rainfall and wetland conditions.
 - *Temperature:* Avoid freezing waters in winter.
 - *Food Availability:* Primarily feed on aquatic invertebrates,
