Ibis
Hadada Ibis
The Hadada Ibis is most commonly seen in *sub-Saharan Africa*, particularly in the following countries where they are abundant and widespread: This Ibis thrives in both natural and human-altered landscapes, often foraging in lawns and roosting in trees in suburban areas. Its loud, distinctive "haa-haa-haa" call makes it easily recognizable. This is not a migratory bird in our region but somehow I think that our Bird Park took a fancy on them. For what ever reasons there were, the next thing we saw some 20 over years ago was that there were 3 birds foraging in the ground of our Lake Garden. Relatively tame with no signs of showing fear of human presence. By now we could a flock of them with varying numbers from time time. Just two years back I have them spotted in the PJ area. Their showing were not consistent and it was difficult to tell when would they be making their show here again Anyway, their showing would be preempt by their very loud and distinctive call |
