Many of you may not have noticed a soft continuous tooting in your neighborhood. The manner of the call? Experts named it as metronomic. It is a bird call from a tiny Barbet bird from a spot at the tallest branch of a tree within your park.

This page will show you images of this colorful little Bird. Barbers and members from this family which are green birds with multi colored patches around their heads. That makes them, a well sort after trophy by Bird photographers Most of the Barbets, in fact, all Barbets are forest birds. Even the Coppersmith Barbet is a forest edge bird though it is a bird seen more often in parks. It keeps to tall trees in urban surrounding and I suppose is attracted to the numerous Macarthur Palms trees with fruits throughout the years. From where they are perched, far away from human interaction.

It is s fruit eater.

This bird has preferences for Open park and makes its nest on the under side of dead bough. Even if that bough is near to people home buildings. More often than not, such bough are in low level. Coppersmith Barbet is by far the most widely distributed Asian Barbet, occurring from India to Indonesia and the Philippines. It is also the only non-forest Barbet in Asia.
