Malaysian Birds - Long-tailed Sibia

Leiothrichidae are beautiful song birds. Apart from the Laughingthrushes, most member of this family are medium size to tiny birds. I too was surprised that the Sibia which is slotted to be in this family is a odd bird out. Fairly large with dull coloured plumage and a rather monotonous call.

Why I singled out this bird for mention? It is a good bird, a warm bird. This species gets around in small flocks and in no hurry to leave when we are around them or they came our way! In contrary to the very colourful Minivet, this group of noisy dull coloured big bird really bring about joy. They brightened up the day .The number of respectable pictures I had collected from this bird, shows its willingness to act as models. Know well enough, they are useful as an icon for Fraser's Hill and other hill stations

Yes, on so many trips to the Hill stations, we would have returned home empty handed if not for those pictures we have collected from these unassuming birds. Thank You.
