The Kampong Orang Asli Laggong Today is the 4th New months and new Year 2023 After 3 solid months of chasing reading and learning I think I am having enough of butterfly Which is a good feeling Slow me down I could start this page Yes Laggong With my lifetime experiences This orang Asli village is the closest to my house with the right surrounding Notch up above Rimba my back yard It has a much much larger tract of forested hills Well still the same scene diversity is confined but should exceed my capability I have a few photos to show how semi urbanised the place is Lagong # 1. The obscure Signage along the Idaman Road After the Police Station
# 2. The many picnic spots along the 2 kilometer long road This is not an area controlled by the Forestry Dept. Popular picnic area and not closed during the Monsoon period #9 #3 The perimeter fencing of a compound lined with variety of Hibiscus plants Very promising spot and also active with Butterfly lives between 9.30-11am. Mainly urban Butterfly
#4 Bushes of Spanish Needle lined both sides of the road Very strong growth with plants reaching a meter tall. Not an incentive for butterfly without a heavy forest backing
# 6 Two enclave without houses or compound These 2 tiny open area with the forest edge reaching road side. My regular hunting ground. One of which very produtive
# 6 Two forest edge enclaves with recessed open ground and without houses or compound The first arrival, rather productive but not that strong to guaranty frequent vist. My second choice I would stop here for a couple of minutes to tap any on-going activity and then I would move on to wait in the top spot.
# 6 Second enclave The top spot with spring water oozing out and carrying some much needed minerals.
#9 Emd of the Paved kampong road The forward parts are unpaved trails . This place is a fringe of a very large forest and hills. Both trails not connected to any specific place. The left trail heading straight west would cross a hill to end up in Kluang. While the rest at one time may be connected to the neighbouring Commonwealth Park but no more. Over the hills would be the Expessway
Part 2- Laggong Butterfly pictures At this age ai yah! I can claim that I am 79 years old now. That learning a new field and together within so much of physical constraints I should be contended that I am able to get the butterfly's name nearly right to get some meaning. Need not be spot on. Just see how much I collected and enjoy my pictures. Today 27th January, very satisfied with my trip to Bukit Laggong yesterday. I feel I ma learning the place as well as the behaviour of butterfly in the vicinity. Checking back my first trip to this place was on 27th November 2022, exactly 3 months to the date. I slowed down going to Rimba which is now leading at 43 species Laggong Forest Edge Bukit Laggong tally count @ 31

Today 4th January - I found time to start this page. No hurry and "take it easy" I told myself soon it will be a meaningful page as well Update - by end January and 3 months in visiting this place, the number of 31 is quite admirable. This is a very small stretch and rather limited. I expect that from now onwards, there would be a nominal increase on subsequent visit. No problem I will contend myself in collecting same species but with better pictures
