Red Ginger -Alpinia Purpurata Alpinia purpurata, red ginger, also called ostrich plume and pink cone ginger, are native Malaysian plants with showy flowers on long brightly colored red bracts. They look like the bloom, but the true flower is the small white flower on top. It has cultivars called Jungle King and Jungle Queen. The scientific name is Alpinia purpurata. This plant is native to the Pacific islands such as Malaysia and is evergreen perennial of the family Zingiberaceae. In monocotyledonous plants, the rhizomes are developed, from which many stems are served. From the stem, long and big lanceolate leaves come out in alternating left and right two rows. Among the plants within this group the notable member of this family is the Banana plant - scientific name: {Musa × paradisiaca}, has leaf sheath overlapped and is called a pseudostem. So for the Alpinia,
extended a long spiked
inflorescence from the tip of the pseudostem and attach a long bronze bract that
looks like a red flower. Small white things coming out between bracts are
flowers. This flower is small and it is not noticeable as it falls immediately.
Another name is called Red Ginger. This is due to the fact that the bract is red
among ginger friends. Bracts are 10 to 30 cm. In the greenhouse, bracts are
attached all the year round, so it seems that the flowers are blooming annually.
There is a Pink Ginger that has a pink bract in the garden cultivar. The flowering period in greenhouse is anniversary. Lastly the fruit shape: it is Spherical shape. The use of this plant , gardening, potted plant, foliage plant, cut flowers. Having unloaded the whole mouthful of jargon, let's have a look at the real plants of mine. #1 Jungle Queen

Actually I feel pleased and honoured of having this website and my ability to record my observation and the plants that I interact with on record. Rather than whirling in the mind that once upon a time, I have these and how I felt. Right now I could unload my impression and leave them to later dates for reminiscences. Glad that I could share this with you
