Historical flash back

My 2nd MGB & last MGB

After giving up on one MGB, it was not difficult for me to get another. It was around that period most of the remaining MGB in the market were severely aging and getting very expensive to upkeep. At the same time, there were much less enthusiasts going for this type of cars, well, the fads for MGB was over.

Within a year or so, I found one which I paid also Rgt 10K. It was a later model, meaning a 1965 make with 5 bearings crankshaft and wire wheels set up. I won't show the "doing up" part but the finished car this time.

Without doubt the fragile wire wheels had seen better times. Not a difficult decision to have a new set ordered from UK. Upon receiving found out that it was manufactured in India
As usual I had the car repainted and other parts refurbished This time I kept the car for good.

Here is the car up in Bukit Kiara - at that time cars were allowed to run the entire circuit of the park.

These are pictures I deliberately made for my record as I was going to relinquish my collections of cars.

Now looking back, I am rewarded with my decision and a chance to relive those sweet memories. How beautiful these cars were.

This is the last shot from my collection. Next picture would be series to show where the car had been to!

This was taken in the round trip to Seremban - Simpang Pertang- Karak - Petaling Jaya. It was also along this same stretch of roads that I di my longest solo drive. Through Simpang Pertang to Traing and back via Temerloh. A 230 kilometers journey and the drive took me over 6 hours. The car though a sport cars, was not built for speed. Was doing between 50-60 mph, roughly 80 km/hour. The car could do a sprint up to 160km/hr, but both the driver and car could not sustain that type of performance

To show how much this car meant to me, I kept it for 30 plus years. As long as I could, and finally it was taking up valuable space in the garden and I could not keep up with the never ending repairing. I had to tell myself , enough is enough!
