The city walls was built at the time of the city founding. The city was layout plan were done according to traditional astrological and religious principles. Every aspect of layout featuring walls, gates and moats were aligned to appease or pay tribute to spirits and gods. Right until these modern days ceremonies and festival are held to commentate the days devoted to appease these protective spirits Could see the old ruins in the various stages of deterioration, destruction and restoration. Yes there were dismantling but matched by the considerable efforts to reinstate the needed parts. So it not only the walls but also other old building within these protective wall that one could sees, So included are the ancient temples shrines.
