Summit Green Valley Golf Club

Summit Green Valley Golf Club is classified as one of the best golf courses in Thailand, meeting the highest international standards, Also, unlike most urban golf course, it is one of the most challenging and pleasurable to play a game of golf, with a series of scenic lake, overlapping hills and sand bunkers strategically place throughout the breathtaking fairway

This Green Valley course, about 20 minutes from Chiang Mai near Mae Rim, was designed by Mr. Dennis Griffiths and features hundreds of palm trees surrounding beautifully kept fairways and greens, with views of the mountains beyond.

Here is what I read about this place  Quote:- "Be at your sharpest at the par 4 9th hole, the course’s signature hole. The first shot from the tee must carry over water into a landing area guarded on both sides by sand traps. The second shot, too, is over water and uphill to an elevated green with bunkers either side and surrounded by palm trees. Just making par is an achievement. The par 3 12th hole is short; but with almost no fairway until close to the green. The rough at Summit Green Valley has grass kept intentionally long. Beware of over hitting the ball on the green shot. There’s a huge bunker waiting behind."

I don't play Golf though patronizing them back in Malaysia were common occurrences from my work connection. Pleasantly surprised tthat this time We had the chance to have spent time in one at Chiang Mai

Though I am not a die-hard Golfer, arriving here on my personal visit, I had this honor of having lunch in a Chiang Mai's Golf Club

According to locals who were regulars, the golf ground is breath-taking. Pretty manicured and stunningly beautiful. Now they would think twice before going there for lunch. While the lunch bunch buffet only costs only 200 baht. The place now caters more for Chinese tour groups. The club offered more curries, mostly fried rice and fried noodles. Apparently, they often have tour groups going for lunch. Though grumbling the locals still comes but order a la carte. Because the view for lunch  from the restaurant is just simply magnificent!
