Chiang Rai "The Golden Triangle" Phra That Doi Pu Khao Phra That Doi Pu Khao perched on a low hill overlooking the scene of the Golden Triangle. It is believed this temple was built by a king of Wiang Hirannakhon Ngoen Yang in the middle of the 8th century. This riverside Temple near Sop Ruak Market is located on a hill just before the Golden Triangle. From the compound, the place offers a spectacular view of the Golden Triangles with its riverside and mountain views. After a long period of neglect, the temple has lost most of its grandeur and what could be seen now are the vihan and crumbled chedis. The temple is located two kilometers away from Chiang Saen Lake Entrance to Temple They still have the word "Wat" mentioned
