Peace Resort

A very much sort after border town by Malaysian especially among the Chinese is Betong It's exotic because it's so far away. It's mysterious because most people heard about its links to communist episode and of course, the lure of the Girlie trade. But all these are now history No more communist and no more girls But there are abundant good durians and a nice quiet place for holiday with lots of good food.
Though this is the era where one could get all kinds of info from the internet but sadly, only bits and pieces of what's in needed are found. I have assembled some picture to help in giving a better glimpse of the place. Personally I am of the opinion that it is a worthwhile destination despite of the deterrent thought of long road trip

The Airyerweng ViewPoint

Switch mode from the "Old" to the "New" interest. These are the latest tourist attraction to Betong. The new Airport, you need not suffer to endure the road trip and also something more contemporary for the younger set. This is the scene for the Sunrise.

For view point, venture out to the peak of the 612 metres high Airyerweng Hill, which is about an hour’s drive from Betong town.

The best views from Airyerweng Hill would be the period 6.00 am to 9.00 am. Here the scene changes - first the misty landscape and varying hue. Then as the shroud of mist evaporates, the morning rays gives the sky and valley other colors.

 Airyerweng! The area has now become Betong’s top tourist attraction. Every tourist would make that effort .Finally, it’s truly a gift granted by God, In a bid to attract more tourists to Betong, as well as other towns situated in the southern growth triangle of Yala, Narathiwat and Pattani, plans are in place to build more tourism-related infrastructure,"
