Songkla Car Ferry Across Songkla Lake Stretching north west of Songkla is the brackish Lake or Inland Sea Thaleh Sap. Here we easily called it Songkla Lake.In this sea there is a Island "Ko Yo" or "Kaw Yaw" famous for its cloth weaving industry. Before the Tinsulononda bridge was built going across the lake and visiting the island depends entirely on the ferry services. Today its needs is very much reduced. We had the opportunity to try this old method and using an old tradition transport before it disappear entirely Aerial view of the Peninsula and Ferry route The new and usual way would be using the new Tinsulanonda Bridge. Not shown on this map and further south Queue to Board Ferry Lucky I have got this shot showing my car.
Important Local road signs A very important and good souvenir for me . This signage may have disappeared by now. It was within the "Kampong" while we waited for our turn to board the ferry
Outside the southern terminal This is a recent picture showing much improvement and upgrade to the surrounding
Fruit or pineapple vendor waiting for ferry arrival
Gang-Ho to disembark Caters mainly for local vehicular traffic

Good experience for me. We had one and the last such crossing in Peninsula Malaysia. Across to Kuala Gula! I knew this mode would go outdated and abolished I managed to get my car on board for a souvenir picture. This time sadly in Songkla I was too excited and the ferry ride was very short, like a blink of an eye. I stayed in the car and did not make any picture of my car inside the Ferry. Some shots I missed.
