Road Signs in Thailand

Main reason that people go travelling is to experience a change of lifestyle under new environment. This experiences of getting away from home will have an even greater impact when the destination is alien in some ways. Add on to that - if you are needed to use more of your personal skills to cope and adapt This is what I got. I was totally fascinated with new road signs coupled with strange sounding names. I had to innovate on the spot, in deciding within split seconds as to where to turn my car steering
These are the feelings that prompted me to record my pictures and now reproduce some on to this page.  all these signs bring back to me the feelings then, Very rich in memories

1. Standard road signs in Thailand

 Road Signs in Thailand

First trip with friends. Though quite familiar with Krabi by then, our mission was to make it to Pee Pee Island.

As expected with stops along the way, we arrived in Krabi by late afternoon The ferry leaves at 2.30 pm So, took the opportunity to look around Krabi town.

Picture Road Signs in Thailand

For Road signs - there are 3 colours used and all still relevant until to date. the original "Black&White" The Thai way.

Next comes to "green" signage for Expreswway and lastly the "Blue" new Gen road signs

Unusual Scenes - on Intercity Roads

Unusual Scenes - These were "antique" of days gone by. Today with better legislation and proper vehicles I was lucky to have records of those better days

 Borders Crossings

A Road Signs after custom point in Betong. They do not mention "Malaysia" - but border.

 Multi-Lingua Road signs

Yes!  Road Signs in Danok and Chiang Rai both had Chinese characters on them.

Thailand's Petrol Station

All petrol company put up their own daily rate for prices of fuel.

My favorite Chicken Rice Shop in Patong Village [closed]

I missed this place very much. My first eatery after crossing the border for my beer and meals.

As society progressed, the differences we used to get to see in other countries, now if we were to do a periodical check, the style of doing things are all used slowly been adapted and many old signs done away. . Without realizing with the passing of time, almost all countries had gradually moved towards an uniform and excepted style of working. More so often without even minding that they are loosing their uniqueness.

Road Signs in Thailand have internationalized. So now driving in Thailand, the ethics would be the same. The "civilized" way - the Thais would now utilize their vehicles as with those all over the world. Gone would the mysteries of driving and searching for places in Thailand. Other than the new names being unfamiliar, the methodology and the thrill of anxiety of proceeding forward almost non-existent. It would be the same as we would do in some not-so-often visited spots in Malaysia.

My collections of pictures brought me so much joy that I captured scenes that had vanished and only those living in that past era would experience
