Classic Cars of the 1960s

Much postings have made to bring those useful Memories of the past. I too have lots of memories about cars of our times Since the topic on cars over the era is quite wide I narrowed it down to cars of the 60s. What I did was to compile a photographic catalogue of the cars that I can remember. I am sure many of you like me would like to see pictures of those old cars again. Especially, many have even forgotten their model name and how they must have looked like. Well the chance is now. Also some technical facts about the industry at that time.

There were a few innovations that were implemented in automobiles during the 1960s, and most of these are still being utilized today because of their great features and their reliability. Here are the best innovations in the 60s.

An alternator is an electric generator that is primarily used to charge the battery of modern automobiles. Also, the alternator is also responsible for powering up the electrical system of the vehicle, which enables it to activate the headlights, radio, and other pieces of equipment within the car that requires electricity. Although the alternator is common in the 21st century, it was actually absent in cars produced before the 1960s

The modern version of alternators for cars was first installed on specialist vehicles that were used during World War II. The purpose of these alternators is to power up radio equipment that soldiers utilize to communicate with each other. After the war, alternators then found their way to ambulances, where they were used for powering up medical equipment. Eventually all cars used alternators
