Cove Square -Black kite hunting

Today is Easter Sunday, 4th April. As usual my buddy, Boon Chee would be asking each morning "So what would you be doing this day?" I don't know! Depends so much on the day. In the morning, there was a good flow of visitors - by appointment and impromptu walked in.

After lunch, I went on to tidy up a fragment of my many unfinished assignments. By 4pm, the head was feeling heavy. Time to go for "therapy". Staring at the Green fields in Kota Damansara. So, after clearing one Pokemon catch in Uptown. I headed for our usual joint. Upon arrival, I was surprised to find out that I was not alone. Three of my kakis were parked there, enjoying the wonderful breeze.

We had some enjoyable time seeing the Pond-Herons coming into the fields. But all of them, were too swift and too far for meaningful pictures. Convinced them that the present windows of a fortnight should be good for Pond Herons hunting, particularly that there are 3 types to go for.

A dark shadow came above, blocked by branches. I couldn't make out the ID for the Raptors. Short while later, the real circling came. Shooting began!

1 Good opportunity and ample time for shots after shots to be fired.

2. No apologies, that's the best my lens can deliver.

3. Very pleased in fact, never had this grade of pictures for long time. Lighting was good and appropriate.

4. More pictures

5. First a couple of high level passes. Then coming down to ground level

6 Yes sweeping just above the weeds

7. Down into the valley floor and skimming the river water surfaces

8. Wow! Making dives too!

9. Caught! water dripping - meaning the claws had tried but empty catch.

10. Another round of passes. Yeah, see! The raptor flying at a height just below our eye level!

11. Record of low level pass

12. Opposite bank high ground sweeping the weeds. Must be combing for Munias and Sparrows?

13. Then, even the isolated bushes were not spared - check for Yellow Bitterns?

Oh what a day! How the bonus were thrown in! Very satisfying day

Thank You for going through.
