Aglaonema is a tropical flowering plant native to subtropical Asia all the way to Papau New Guinea. In Chinese this plant is hailed as the "Evergreen Plant"
This tough indoor plant comes in a range of colors and combinations. Some varieties also produce calla-lily-like flowers when planted in well-lit locations. As the plant is a slow grower, patience needed. The plant can also be a great addition to coffee tables and desks when it is young.
Such is the popularity of Chinese Evergreens that they have been hybridized and bred into a wide variety of cultivars. They are available in a myriad of colors and exotic variegation.
