Kampar Food Court
I always look forward to visiting this place. Food was good and prices competitive. It is not that the food were exceptional attractive but overall above par. First attraction was the Porridges - Gone! He did not sell anymore. My choice was porridges with fresh fish meat, If am there early I could even get to be served one of the Fish head he had for the day. Now that is exceptional. Not found anywhere else in peninsula. Then "Lai Fun" !! Started with the very popular "Lai Fun" stall in Pokok Assam. Long queue each morning. :Later found out that th best Lai Fun was offered in Gopeng. But that operator opens at unearthly hour of 3 pm. How many of us would eat in late afternoon let alone be passing by Ipoh in the afternoon. I found the same equally good "Lai Fun" Was actually a double discovery. The stall here operated by a Sze Hui person and "Lai Fun" is a Sze Hui delicacy. I cold go on and one for the many trival justification why I like this place 1. This is the hawker centre or more appropriately the Food Court. There are 2 in Kampar, this one serves the morning session and another. a stone throw away, the hawker centre for the "pm" session.
2. There is a nice lake just beside. Not very productive as I saw no vegetations
3. The public car park with toilet
4. Road side vendors outside the food court. each locality have their idea of SOP for the Covid era. Here they use little ribbons to barricade, nor having an official entrance or exit. Supervising authority set up a table in the car park. Visitors are expected to be disciplined to head to the car park to check in before entering the complex. We were lucky to have our car parked nearby to learn about this practice.
5. Flat frying pan - relics from by gone days
6. Gang of Three
. 7.More angle from the Fryer
8. At last Gang of Four
I am still hunting for more pictures from my archive to fill up this page. Pity most of them vanished in thin air after the Hard disc disaster! |
